Paul Barnes (born 1970, Harlow, England) is a graphic designer specializing in the fields of lettering, typography, type design. He is a partner with Christian Schwartz in the internationally acclaimed type foundry, Commercial Type, with offices in New York and London.

After graduating from the University of Reading in 1992 he worked for Roger Black in New York where he was involved in redesigns of many magazines including Esquire and Newsweek. He later returned to America to be art director of the music magazine Spin.

Since 1995 he has lived and worked in London. He formed a long term working relationship with Peter Saville, which has resulted in such diverse work as identities for Givenchy, 'Original Modern' for Manchester, the England football team kit and the logo for Kate Moss.

Barnes has also been an advisor and consultant on numerous publications, notably Wallpaper*, Harper's Bazaar and frieze. Whilst consultant to The Guardian in 2005 he designed the Guardian set of typefaces with Christian Schwartz for the groundbreaking redesign of the newspaper. As part of the team headed by Mark Porter, Barnes was awarded the Black Pencil from the D&AD. They were also nominated for the Design Museum 'Designer of the Year' in 2006.

With Schwartz he founded Commercial Type in 2010, a type foundry creating custom typefaces for many clients, including the V&A, Museum of Modern Art, New York, The National Trust, Visa, Google, Puma and Rapha. With a team of collaborators they have released many retail fonts, including classics such as Graphik, Druk, Publico, Canela, Lyon and Austin. In 2019 they launched Commercial Classics, a sub-label reviving long forgotten faces from the past.

In September 2006, with Schwartz he was named one of the 40 most influential designers under 40 in Wallpaper*. A year later The Guardian named him as one of the 50 best designers in Britain. In 2024 he was elected a member of the Alliance Graphique Internationale (AGI). He has extensively lectured and taught across the UK, Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand and the United States.

Joana Correia is a Portuguese type designer and founder of Nova Type Foundry, based between Vienna and Porto. She holds an MA in Typeface Design from the University of Reading, holds an Master in Business Administration from Porto Business School, and holds an executive coaching certification. Since 2011, she has designed typefaces spanning Latin, Cyrillic, Greek, Tamil, Malayalam, and Devanagari scripts for clients including Google Fonts, Monotype, Indian Type Foundry, and FontYou — among them the Google Font Arima and contributions to Google Sans Flex. Her original typefaces, released through Nova Type Foundry, are distributed via Monotype, Adobe Fonts, Fontstand, and MyFonts, and her work has been recognized with a Certificate of Typographic Excellence from the Type Directors Club and a Granshan Award.

Beyond type design, Joana Correia has taught at ESAD Matosinhos and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology, and led operations and foundry-relations teams at Schriftlabor and at The Type Founders. She is co-founder of Ligado Studio, a consultancy supporting type foundries with strategy and operations, and speaks regularly at industry gatherings including ATypI, TypeCon, and the Encontro de Tipografia series.

Miguel Valério é docente e investigador Ramón y Cajal na Universidade de Múrcia (Espanha), na área de Pré-História. É licenciado e mestre em Arqueologia pela Universidade Nova de Lisboa e doutor em Culturas e Línguas do Mundo Antigo pela Universidade de Barcelona.

A sua investigação centra-se na arqueologia da Idade do Bronze, nas origens da escrita, e nos sistemas de escrita não decifrados do Egeu, de Chipre e de Rapa Nui (Ilha de Páscoa), temas sobre os quais tem publicados mais de 60 trabalhos científicos.
